A little .PDF help please

Hi,
Everyone once-in-awhile I get an application from a site in .PDF format…

Now when I was filling out immigration forms for my wife I ran into the concept of actually filling out the form inside the file on the computer it was downloaded to, via Adode Acrobat…

My question is, “Do these forms have to be saved with the ability to be written into or can I do this with any .PDF file I run into as long as I’m using Acrobat?”

What I’d like to do is just this… instead of printing out everybody’s application and writing on it- I could somehow cut and paste portions of my resume (since they don’t want this for some reason) into the digital application and save myself a little monotony… Anybody got the scoop on this?

In theory if you have the full version of Acrobat (not just Reader), you could create fields where you can enter text. That may affect the formatting of the document, or it won’t print correctly (if your text overflows the box for example), but I don’t know if an agency would accept this.

That said, there are also software packages for people that fill out lots of government forms that allow you to type directly into the form and also autofills some information. I think the version that my boss has is only for specific ventdor qualification forms, but I can check the name.
