My favorite scene/shot of a hurricane reporter:

Standing in the wind and rain, resplendent in their company slicker, talking about how bad the weather is. At some point during their report, they’ll be forced to reach out and grab a nearby tree or pole to steady themselves, because the wind is blowing just so hard.

Meanwhile, the camera never moves. Obviously, the cameraman isn’t affected by this horrific wind.

Makes me smile every time.

I’m always afraid when I watch these people that they’re going to get impaled by something:

“Looks windy out there, Angie!!”
“Sure is Bob!.. Stuff is flying everywh…THWAK!!!”
“OH MY GOD!!..Angie?..”

CNN later that evening…
“Weatherperson Angie Gale was impaled by a two by four through the head during coverage of Hurricane Philo today.”
