Animal Crackers is starting now on Turner Classic, to be followed by Monkey Business and Horse Feathers.
No commercials. Could life get any better?
Not if I’m any judge of horseflesh.
I’d never seen Duck Soup – laughed my ass off.
It’s probably their best.
I didn’t make it that late; in between Monkey Business and Horse Feathers I decided to stretch out on the couch. That was a mistake.
Older Daughter was given a boxed set of Marx Brothers films for Christmas by her boyfriend. I approve of this one.
If I’d have watched it any closer, I would have been inside it!
Umm, yeah. My frakking cable could carry TCM!
Before this thread drops off, a question. Was Chico a good pianist (I know he was a bandleader when he wasn’t being a Marx brother) or just a passable pianist and a good showman?
He certainly wasn’t a classical pianist, but he could play pretty well. All of the Marx Brothers were adequate musicians. Harpo was likely the best.
Absolutely they focused more on showmanship in their vaudeville shows and plays and movies than on being orchestra quality.
Run out and get me a four year old child, I can’t make head or tail of this thread!
