A Mighty Wind - live in concert!

Oh, lucky me! Last night I had the sublime thrill of seeing the cast of “A Mighty Wind” in concert here in Seattle! Almost all of the cast was here - The New Main Street Singers, the Folksmen and of course, Mitch and Mickey. Bob Balaban was also there as
Jonathan Steinbloom, and Jennefer Cooledge absolutely stole the finale away from the singers with her cootchie jiggle dance as publicist Amber Cole. It was a great show! And of course, we have the best souveneir ever - the DVD! I was so impresseed at how they managed to keep a lot of the in-jokes in the show without benefit of narrator or flashbacks.
Did anybody else get a chance to catch this show?

Our son saw a live performance of Spinal Tap many years ago, and the lead-in group was the Folksmen – way before “A Mighty Wind.” Most of the audience were impatient with the Folksmen, waiting for Spinal Tap, and didn’t get the sublime joke. My son says he and his friend caught it fairly quickly, and cracked up.

They played the Getty in Los Angeles a couple of weeks after the movie debuted. My Mom saw it and said it was hilarious.

Haj

Now that’s a concert I’d have given my left n…
I’d have given a lot to see.

Somehow I doubt that this particular ensemble will be playing the desert Southwest any time soon. :frowning:

Sorry, Kizarvexius, the Seattle show marked the end of their tour.

On the bright side, your genitalia will remain intact!

Saw the Vancouver version. I never realized just what a good singer Eugene Levi is.
Man, what a great show.

ummmm… what sublime joke?

The Folksmen and Spinal Tap are played by the same three actors.

Who says comedy is dead???
