Does anyone else remember a movie made in the 90’s where the story was that the nielson agency boxes they put in homes screwed up and all of a sudden pbs or some other station (i think it was a public broadcasting station though) all of a sudden was reported as having a huge rating.
And then all these people got interested in all the stuff on pbs and got huge funds or something.
I only vaguely remember it but I thought it was interesting in that the theme was that people would watch whatever was popular.
