A Netflix reboot of Little House on the Prairie on the way

Regardless, I think we all know the show will last two seasons at best. The second season might even be cancelled before the first is available for viewing.

Hypothetically, nothing. In practice, most of them are substantially worse than the originals (IMO), and are just trading on viewers’ good memories of the originals to attract eyeballs.

And now that I’ve actually read more about this specific reboot, it’s going to be pretty true to the tv series and be family friendly. My tv panel will not be infected with it.

To expand on your comment about the political agenda, in 2012, The New Yorker ran this paywalled article on how Laura Ingalls Wilder and her daughter Rose Wilder Lane were fervent followers of Ayn Rand’s libertarian philosophy and edited the books to emphasize these ideas. Both women hated FDR’s policies. (If you can’t read The New Yorker article, you should be able to read this piece from the PBS American Masters series.)

Imagine the pitch meeting: “it’s Strawberry Shortcake meets Blood Meridian!”

Is it going to be “gritty” and “dark”? I think Laura being a hitman dressed in black would be a good start.

maybe bring in aliens. or Zombies. Or…alien zombies!

Whoever is cast as Charles Ingalls needs to be required to do a remake of I Was a Teenaged Werewolf first.
