I can live without millions. Proved that already.

I need clarification on the red pill. Is my consciousness getting sent back in time into the body of my 16-year-old self? Or do I continue to exist in the present day with all things being identical except that I am physically 16?
That’s the big question. Getting a 16 year body now would be great, longer life and better health. Going back with the knowledge of what I have lost, no, just no. I’d take the money.
The red pill, of course. Both being young now in the present day and going back in time to when I was young with my current knowledge is worth way more than 5 lousy millions. Plus in the latter case I could avoid a couple of catastrophes for friends and family. For me it’s a no-brainer.
Red pill, definitely the red pill. With that red pill and me going back to when I was 16, by the time 2023 rolls around again I’d easily have more than $5M. Like @Czarcasm .

Hard choice. Red pill though. I would hate my last few years of high school though. Knowledge would allow me to improve that though.
It would be simple to make 5 million with what I know, but I would need a bit of a bank roll. It would be easier if I followed sports.
Man though, I donno. I would be a total and complete alien it the world of 1976. And I’d miss a LOT of stuff. It would also be hard to not fiddle with the time line so to speak. Prevent others from making drastic mistakes. And prevent my self from making them too.
I rather like how I turned out and the butterfly effect is a scary thing. No knowledge and 5 million would have the same effect though.

With 5 mil I could fix the effects of my younger self’s errors of judgment.
This is key to know. If I’m being returned to my past 16 year old self, I not only have my youth back, I’d have enough knowledge of the future to eventually make enough money that the $5 mil would be chump change.

Another red pill taker for all the reasons given above. Whether I became 16 back then in 1974 again or here now in 2023 either way it’d be an awesome ride forward from there. Very different rides, but I don’t need to know which ride to know which pill I prefer.
Getting used to be being a teen again with all the limitations appurtenant thereunto would be a mongo irritant. For the 1974 case, losing the internet & mobile phones would sting a bit. The rest of modern tech I don’t much care about; 8 tracks sounded OK enough. OTOH, as a newly minted almost-man my new world is full of 16 yo almost-women and in a few years will be full of 20yo young women. Woot!!!
I pretty well tubed my original youth due to my ignorant self-imposed limitations. Unless I’m promptly hit by a bus I could hardly do worse the second time around. And especially so armed with the mind of current me. IMO the fact my youth sucked in so many ways is the primary motivation to want to do it again. Unlike some posters upthread who didn’t like it the first time and are therefore afraid to try again.
Money
Going back in time to 1990 would mean that I’d probably never meet my wife and my kid would never be born - and I like my wife and my kid. So I’ll live with my choices and take the money.
Millions of dollars won’t help this body last too much longer, so it’s gonna have to be the red pill for me.
With a 16 year old body and my current knowledge, I’d set a whole new course for my life and I’d never make the same stupid choices I made when I was actually 16 (and even older).
Swallow the red pill. Crush and snort the blue pill. Take it from me, this is my third go round.
