Damn right I’ve read all the rules. I belong to five other boards, and not one of them would allow the excuse of either “I ain’t got time to read the instructions that are in front of my face.” or “They don’t do it that way on the other boards!”

Also speaking only for myself: I see a very real possibility of posters using this as an excuse not to mend their ways in a timely fashion, i.e. “I see that Poster A has 5 warnings, so I really have nothing to worry about for another 4 warnings. I’m going to get a couple more shots in!”

Making a mistake and owning up to it doesn’t mean you are guaranteed a Mod warning-and repeatedly posting Pit worthy material outside of The BBQ Pit, after being here long enough to have over 9000 posts, doesn’t excuse you from getting one, either. I guess reading and following the rules is just for the newbies, right?
