A note to pchaos

Why can’t you feel the forward thrust of the car?

You’re probably right. WISHS(What I Should Have Said).

Presumably because it is moving at a constant speed rather than accelerating?

How dare anyone say you’re not the model of class and feminine decorum.

Jeez. I was about to say, " isn’t she 18 now?" Now I feel even older.

Because it’s a thought expiriment. If you want something more realistic; imagine yourself in an airplane. One does get the sense that they are moving forward but it sure as heck doesn’t feel like you’re moving at 550mph.

The reason why that is; you have nothing to reference your speed to.

Okay, I don’t understand these Hot Buttered Toast references, and I want someone to explain them to me right goddamn now.

Years ago Giraffe made a sexual reference to the aforementioned poster, only to find out she was only 13. I think it was in a thread started by Incubus and how toast (the good) saved the day.

Here it is. Starts on post 8.
Why do I still remember all this?

Oh, he knew she was 13…

Seriously now, got it, thanks!

So, what’s the abridged version of this thread? Gloves on or not? And if the latter, do I need a butler?

Only if he’s a monkey.

Assuming this is a valid thought experiment, an omnipotent God could segue all existence for all potential beings in between two different experiences of ideal bliss (black bliss and white bliss, as a metaphor).

Because it was one of those threads that will live on forever. And rightly so.

Galileo’s Dictum.

Which is a good metaphor for this thread. I can’t tell if this pitting is moving against the grain of the board, or if the board is rushing against this pitting like a lynch mob.

It’s all equivalent in the end, it would seem.

You are actually making me feel a slight lessening of my disdain towards pchaos. Stop it.

Tht was almost a month and a half ago, y’know.

You are making me look bad by reviving month-old zombie threads. Stop it.

Yeah, but they weren’t playing in B Minor, so we all knew nothing was going to happen.

Are you still here?

Thanks for the information. I knew about the train analogy of special relativity, but not that the concept derived from Galileo. I suppose the issue is with whether the analogy applies to human emotions (which raises the question of what one is supposed to experience in heaven) and the fact that there are exterior frames or reference in both cars and aeroplanes.
