I’m here, finally, having suffered an interruption in cable connection earlier this evening. (Is that even allowed to happen?) Seems to be happening frequently lately and I fear it is something between the utility pole and my house since various cables are wildly overgrown and there is a branch from my neighbor’s tree hanging very close to MY cable. EEEEK. I don’t do well without a connection to civilization.
Anyhoo…welcome, zelie. I hadn’t seen that Teemings page, so thank you for announcing yourself here and causing swampy to post the link. (I’ve bookmarked it for future reading - thanks, swampy.)
So, Mr. Swampington Bear, what exactly are you saying about smalltown Ohio (some of which is actually Kentucky and other related states - pretend you didn’t read that Ellen, OK?)? Of course, I’ve never actually lived in Smalltown, OH, and am originally from the Enemy State just north of here…
In any case, I agree with MagicEyes; you should find yourself a charming Buckeye Necklace, which I still saw people wearing yesterday, even though we lost on Saturday (although we were leading until there were 2 1/2 minutes or so…don’t ask me, I didn’t watch). And the campus area was A MESS. It amazes me the amount of trash that football fans leave behind. YUCKO. Don’t know how people stand to live anywhere near campus. But still, a Buckeye Necklace would be proof that you had been to Ohio. Or something.
Too bad you’re not going to be closer to my neck of the woods…
I like the Ashes theory of why the larger Tootsie Rolls taste better than the minis. We frequently have Tootsie Rolls mixed in with other candy in our work candy jar. They’re OK, but dark chocolate is better. (Oh and Magic, did you have to link to that yummy-sounding chocolate site???)
Taters - hope the back is better. If it’s any consolation, one of my professors in grad school had something similar at least a couple of times. And the first time he was an undergrad. (I only know this because the second time he was in his early forties and he had to miss class…) So no, it’s not necessarily an age thing.
Glad to hear VunderWife is doing better, Bobbio.
Lissla, just saw your post and looked through the pics. Very cute shirts. I think I like the shirt sleeveless. If not sleeveless, then I’d go with long sleeves. (I’m not very fond of cap sleeves…)
OK…I have other stuff I’m supposed to be doing. Laundry would be good. And I just picked up Sara Paretsky’s Fire Sale at the library (I had it on reserve and it happened to be there when I went to look for something else tonight - yay!) so I’d like to get some reading time in…
Happy Monday everyone!
