In answer to your question Siege, he didn’t say. He suggested that if a poll were conducted, there would be a major discrepancy between who the men believed and who the women believed. He also said that there would be a discrepancy between who white people believed versus who blacks believed, although I didn’t incorporate that into my poll. He blamed most of it on how the media is handling the release of information in this case. So far, looks like he’s very wrong.
I’m female, living about 5 miles from the party house, with friends who live in the same neighborhood.
My bias is to believe the woman.
It’s driving me crazy! Why don’t the DNA samples match??? Why would she lie??? If she was lying then she’d have to know the DNA wouldn’t match. What on earth happened? Something terrible I’m inclined to think.

I believe the girl does have a legitimate complaint. Those lacrosse kids did something wrong. Danged if I know what it was. She’s probably accusing the wrong individual players. 40 drunken white athletes are pretty hard to tell apart.
Female. I believe the players, if only because the evidence just doesn’t support her claims. They don’t sound like a bunch of saints, or anyone I’d want anything to do with, but the inconsistencies are just too big.
The players. Being stupid is not a crime and I do believe something unbelievably stupid went down there. (I also don’t believe Joran VanDerSloot killed Natelie Hollaway, FTR. I think he was stupid for leaving her on the beach,lying, etc but I don’t think he killed her)
Male. Based just on what I’ve read from linked stories and threads here, I’d have to side with the players. I know this is supposed to be just a poll, but I want to give my reasons too.
Not only are there are a lot of inconsistencies in her story, but according to reports, it’s not that the DNA didn’t match any of the tested players, but that there was no foreign DNA to speak of. That doesn’t happen in any kind of physical encounter, no matter how one-sided the struggle is, much less one as intimate as rape. There was no latex residue and no lubrication residue, which pretty much precludes the comments a couple of you threw in about condom use.
Unless there’s some reason for all that physical evidence to not be there – like she went home, scrubbed herself thoroughly, douched, and gave herself an enema – I have to conclude at this point that she was not assaulted in a timeframe that could implicate the players at that party.
If there is other evidence or corroboration, I’d be willing to change my mind. I’ve certainly seen enough crap go down at frat houses and other big parties like this to make me believe it could happen. Hell, I dated a girl who stripped for parties like this and she told me of a few close encounters that made me boiling mad even though she got out of it okay. If anything, I’m biased against the players, but it doesn’t look like they did it.
I believe the players over the stripper (whose credibility, due to her past criminal record and her likely intoxication, is definitely in question.) Male.
