A Query about last night's (1/15) ER episode

I looked and looked but I didn’t find another ER thread.

We don’t have cable, and the antenna was being wonky, so I couldn’t see what the name was when the lady in the NICU named her kid something strange (or at least spelled it strangely). What was the name and how was it spelled? Can anyone help me? I’m dying of curiosity. Muchas gracias.

“Chair.” I didn’t catch how it was supposed to be pronounced.

What a sad episode. “Here’s your baby. You can hold him, until he dies in about an hour.”

I think it was “Cher”, spelled C-H-A-I-R because the mother “wanted to be different”.

You’re kidding me! Somebody named their kid “Chair”?

Poor kid.

I found this site yesterday that had me in stitches for hours. It’s amazing what some people will name their kids.

Yeah, it was a really sad episode. Much better than I thought it would be from the previews, however. I could never do that job :frowning:

It was nice to see Neela’s character finally getting fleshed out.

I thought this was a really good episode, at least partly because instead of trying to give every member of the cast some meaningful subplot, they just focussed on two (Abby and Neela).

And who wouldn’t be touched by stories abuot babies?

It was “Chair,” because then Abby said, “Well, maybe she’ll find a nice ottoman someday.” hee, hee

I’m don’t think we heard how “Chair” was pronounced, but Abby did make that snarky comment about meeting a nice boy named Ottoman (was it Ottoman? I thought she said Sofa - whatever - it was still funny).
She was holding the card with it spelled that way and the mother said she just wanted to be different.

When the Asian couple walked out with their son and had to leave their daughter, I totally called that they were never coming back. I told my husband that they were skipping out and leaving her behind.

This was a good episode. They’ve been fleshing out the character of Neela a good bit the last couple of episodes. There was one from 2 or 3 weeks ago when they all went to a bar and she got drunk. Drunk Neela was very funny!

I’m unspoiled for this show, but when they did the “Previously On ER” bit, and showed the scenes from last year of Kerry and Sandy discussing having a baby, I also knew that we’d see them, and Sandy’d be the one giving birth.
