Wiffle bat? We used the good old-fashioned Louisville slugger. You could get pretty good distance if you hit em square. If I remember right, they’d glow all the way down and for about 10 seconds after they hit the ground. Maybe longer, but after that I’d be off to find the next lightning bug.
