A question about roof top solar power installs, especially SolarCity

So SolarCity is a company that has about 15% of the home solar market, and here in Massachusetts is offering a deal that I believe runs as follows:
They put solar panels on your roof (no charge to you).
You agree to buy your electricity from them.
This electricity is presumably cheaper than what you get from “the big electric company”
If you act this month they give you a $600 credit on your electric bill to start.

I’m aware Google gave them a lot of money, but I’m also aware that (I believe) the feds refused to guarantee a large loan.

Any customer reviews that I found on line were for people that were leasing the arrays from SolarCity, and there was a big upfront cost. It also seems that the quality of their customer support varies widely based on the location.

My house roof would, I think, be a very good candidate (or at least as you can get in Massachusetts). It’s tipped about 45 degrees, is unmarked by dormers, and faces just east of south.

Any experiences/cautions/advice?

I’m going to a community meeting about this tonight, to see if it makes sense for a bunch of people to get together and do a mass install for a discount. I’ll report back. I’m curious about what happens if you move, and about price protection. I live in northern California, so it may make sense here. They are on the radio every second.

I’m also wondering about the learning curve. Solar cell prices are down and dropping. Some software that is used to improve the yield of integrated circuits in fabs has been adopted to improve the yield of solar cells, and if they track ICs they may get cheaper real quickly - so it might make sense to wait.
