never heard about this word before, but according to some notes it could mean danger or dangerous

Neither, actually – it’s “precipitous.” Meaning, “Like a precipice.” Which you can look up when you look up “precipitous.”
As already said it’s spelt ‘precipitous’. It comes between precipitate and precis.
