A question for the 40% (Bush supporters: why absolutely NO dissension?)

Wright resigned. Was he ever actually indicted?

Rostenkowski? The fall of Wilbur Mills was flashier.

John Corrodo: Thanks, little buddy! I’m not sure what question you were answering, but it doesn’t appear to have been mine. Your first example was not of an indictment, and your second was not of the House majority leader.

But more to the point, there is a cancer on the Republican party. It appears I can cite any examples I want of all the stuff going on right now, but they will be quickly countered by this Democrat stepping down in the 1950’s or Dan Rostenkowski.

The first step toward recovery is admitting that you have a problem.

My fault- I misread “incident” as “indictment” in the Wikipedia article.

A simple mistake, akin to mispelling the name of the person you’re replying to.

I still think it’s more an issue of power corrupting rather than something fundamentally wrong with Republicans or the party in general. But even if we assume that the Republican party is X% more corrupt than the Democrats, what does that mean in terms of actions we as citizens would take? I vote for the person, not the party, and if it’s McCain vs HRC in '08, I’m almost certain to give my vote to McCain. If Bush were able to run again, he wouldn’t get my vote (as he didn’t last time). If Frist or DeLay is found guilty I hope they receive the appropriate punishment. If the Democrats controlled Congress, I wouldn’t be surprised if impeachment (of Bush) was in the air.

The game I want to play is are you a man of your word?

Earlier you wrote:

To date, we have had 3 people seriously concur with me.
Now, will you admit that it is you who are deluded on this point, or, were you simply lying?

I value the truth too highly to waste it on someone not worthy of it. Bite me Scylla.

Lying and poor sportsmanship and name calling. I fear I must report you.

I knew you would.

Fear Itself

Allright, Fear Itself, take it to the Pit. You know better.

[Moderator Hat OFF]

So sorry that one of the mean liberals stung you again with the virtual baseball bat. I hope you feel better soon. But alas, entre nous, I have to say that Fear Itself is not the ultimate arbiter of delusion.

And please don’t tell on me too - I’ll be your best friend. Promise.

Moderator’s Note: OK, Hentor, you knock it off too.

And Scylla, it’s not really necessary and probably counterproductive to post that you’ve reported the person. Just report it; then your opponent gets the scolding while you look all noble and grown up about it.

Must… resist… delivery!

It’s important to my street cred that the Perp knows who busted him.

Take him away and book him.

Well, yes. Quite. I understand, and I will comply from now on. This however was a special case.

Everything is a special case with you, Scylla. And watch the name calling, I may have to report you.
