Hey Florida Folks - My Mom moved to Tampa and for her birthday I wanted to buy her some sort of car service account which I would pay for because she doesn’t drive and doesn’t have a car, and as you all probably know, it is virtually impossible to live there without driving or being driven. Does anyone have any information, clues, advice for me? I would appreciate it very much. I am going down to visit her this Friday for the first time so I know absolutely nothing about Florida at this point. Also- I don’t drive either. Its not exactly the mecca of mass transportation, but I used to ride the buses to and from work when I lived there. Its not so bad if your lucky enough to live near a stop.
That said, walking any more then a block or two in the summer can get pretty brutal due to the heat, so if you live any further then that, you don’t want to plan based on an experience using the bus in April that you’ll be able to walk to the stop in August.
