A Quiet Place Day One Seen it Thread

Wow, I was a little blown away by this. It was much better than I expected it to be. Really good performances, great set pieces and a tight engaging story. Much less popcorn than I expected (in a good way).

The only negative was the person a few rows behind me loudly snoring during the movie, which is irony I think?

Anyone else see it?

I saw it yesterday and was very pleasantly surprised. The first film took a very interesting take on the apocalypse/monsters and elevated it with a great cast. The second one was a fairly standard journey to safety through an apocalyptic environment. While the cast was, once again, great, there wasn’t the enjoyment of figuring out the monsters and danger. I expected that by the third movie, the writers would be running out of new ideas and, with none of the original cast, there would be a definite dip.

I was wrong. The writers dreamt up a scenario and story that kept the audience involved, even knowing “everything” about the monsters. The casting of the main protagonists was great, and there were no lazy “let’s see what the noise in the cellar is” scenes. The ending was logical and satisfying.
