A Rant That Shall Score A "0.5"

Astroboy, Zaphod (my son) had an open ticket his boss had bought, but the ticket was valid only for one year, and he was there for one year and ONE WEEK. The director had promised to take care of that.
By the way, he got his ticket, his money, everything. So it’s cool. A bit of a cliffhanger, but ok in the end. I just hope his flight is uneventful.

And he will be home late tomorrow night, around midnight. (ET)

Nice to know he’s on his way home.

Happy homecoming!

Well, Mood pretty much gave it to ya: I’m now at the airport in Seoul, and waiting for my flight to Toronto. From there, I’ll have to grab another flight to Montreal. My boss finally handed me my ticket, less than 20 hours before my flight. Well, better late than never.

Astroboy, YBM (ECC) actually is where I work. As I mentioned, I’ve never had any problems getting my money (aside from having to ask for it - ARGH!), but apparently even the more honest wanjangs don’t have any problems with dicking people around.

So, here ends the cliffhanger (unless you count the whole “will Zaphod’s airplane be hijacked and forced to crash into Place Ville Marie” scenario as a possibility). In any case, I’ll let you guys know about that when I’m finally in Montreal. This PC room is 3 times as expensive as the one I’m used to, so I won’t be writing any novels at this time.

Nooo! Don’t do that, my dad works there!

But I’m glad to hear you’re coming home!

I’m in Montreal. The plane and Place Ville Marie both escaped undamaged. Everything is cool, except that I’m too tired to post anything more than this.

So,in decidedly un-Pit-like fashion - Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I’ll be back to post in a day or two, once I’ve licked my wounds and recovered from the jetlag.

Ah! Thanks, Mood! I was wondering about that (the ticket dealy, that is…)…

Glad to hear that Zaph made it home safely!

Zaph, you worked for YBM in the ECC program? Wow, if we’d only known! We are brothers! I did 2 years in Seoul at YBM in the YEC program (which may now be defunct…). YBM seems to me to be one of the better hagwons (IE: they have no problem with jerking you around endlessly, but at least they DO pay, and eventually give you what they said they would although too late…)

Anyways, not to sound too cheery, but don’t let this experience sour you on Korea [sup]there are SO MANY other reasons to be sour on it![/sup]…

If you DO lose your head and decide to come back for another year (as many do) let me know, and maybe I can hook you up with a better job!

Glad you got home safely!
