A read a few webcomics...

Actually, I don’t like Oasis all that much, to tell the truth. So the current arc isn’t doing much for me.

Uh… thanks? :dubious:

Any time!

It says something about Questionable Content that I, who am not heavily into music and even less into the indie scene, find it absolutely hilarious. Granted, I find the Pintsize gags a hell of a lot funnier than the obscure indie refs, but it’s all good. And the art has improved substantially since it started.

Dr. McNinja is the man. The. Man. I consider Penny Arcade, Order of the Stick, and Something*Positive the holy trinity of webcomics, but Dr. McNinja rules them all. He’s a doctor and a ninja. You cannot get more awesome than that.

One comic I enjoy that doesn’t get a lot of publicity is WTF Comics. It started out as an Everquest fancomic, but lately it’s evolved into its own derivative fantasy style. Sadly, updates are few and far between, but the art is good and the story is IMO excellent.

Since most of the Gods of Webcomickry have been noted, I’ll throw in a little side dish: Vexxarr. It’s a sci-fi comic about the lowliest of the Bleens, his attempt to conquer Earth, and the journey to find a place where he can just eat some freakin’ cake. It’s a very light comic, but it’s packed with good, wholesome snark.

I had no idea there were so many webcomics. Thanks!

I’ll add two that I just discovered and particularly like:

Alien Loves Predator - worth looking through the archive!

Oh, man. I can’t believe I forgot Dr. McNinja.

Best. Ninja. Ever. And also doctor.

Yay! I’d forgotten about WTF, and took it off my comic bookmarks because it had stopped updating. I’m happy to be reminded…rebookmarked!

I’ve been reading Sluggy off and on for a few years. I find that it reads better if you let it go for a while and then read it in big chunks. I even found Oceans Unmoving to be a lot better once I waited a few months and then read it in one or two sittings.

Hate Song doesn’t update all that often but it can be pretty funny in a very disturbed kind of way.

A few more (apologies if some of these have already been mentioned):

Bug Bash is drawn by a guy who works at a large software company based in Redmond. It’s published in the company newsletter, and after some time passes the author removes the real in-jokes and posts the comics on the web.

Ashfield Online is now defunct AFAIK. It’s funnier if you read it while reasonably drunk.

I haven’t followed goats in ages, but really enjoyed it in the early days.

Bobbins is now defunct. It’s the predecessor of Scary Go Round.

Ubersoft is snark about a large software company. Start reading at the beginning.

The Gods of ArrKelann is kind of a nifty take on how gods can be all too human. Start at the beginning.

VGcats never fails to tickle my funnybone.

Now that you’ve mentioned Perry Bible Fellowship, I’d like to be so bold as to add The Parking Lot is Full. Now defunct, sadly, but well archived. It’s got the same “quirky” humor as the former…but it’s a bit spookier. Yeah.

Evil Inc is so much of a favorite, that I’ve bought 3 collections.

Girl Genius is a must read for all SDMBers.

Kevin And Kell is very postmodern, yet warmly evokes Walt Kelly.

Whoof. Just finished reading “Hate Song”, as linked up above, and I don’t know which hurts worse - my brain, my funny bone, or my gag reflex.

Anyways. Came into the thread to recommend Boxjam’s Doodle, an extremely good - if extremely minimalist - strip. I’ve seen people compare it to early-run Peanuts, and I agree with that assessment.
