I’ve spoken with a few people about this in Private but I wanted to post it publicly here as well. In 10 days I’ll be on my way to Cuiaba, Brazil as part of a team from my church being sent to lend assistance for 2 weeks to a missionary couple we support. Among other things we will be
1)Helping the church become a more cohesive, more organized body.
2)Performing various construction work, in particular laying a patio and building a pavillion.
3)Helping out with their first ever Bible School (which should be quite an adventure given the language barrier)
Any and all prayers you could send my way would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks All.
Balls that. If you are going to Brazil, find yourself the nearest Churascaria(sp?), and eat. Eat like you have never eaten before, and never will again.
I once assisted a group that did simply an afternoon-long Vacation Bible School in another country – boy, that was a challenge, that’s for sure! Good luck!
Went to one the last time I was there 3 years ago in Belem. A dining experience I will never forget and will get to experience once again. This is made even better by the fact that Cuiaba is in the middle of cattle country and puts the Churascareas (I don’t know how to spell it either) in Northern Brazil, and even Sao Paulo to shame
Thanks everyone for your prayers. If all things go well I’ll be on my plane 1:30 Eastern Time and will be starting work upon final landing tomorrow morning about this time but Central.
Again, thank you all.
