The camera work sucks s-o bad. Hand held in the hands of amateurs. And they appear to me to really, really go out of their way to stretch to make it seem like almost ANYONE should have been able to stop this, but almost conspired to prevent it. Shabby, so far.
I got bored with it about 15 minutes in and have switched to CBS, even though I’ve seen this documentary before. Right now the scene is two firefighters talking at night with the absolutely beautiful Twin Towers all lit up behind them.
Not a fan of the intentionally shaky camera work to make it more “real.” 9/11 was real enough, thanks anyway.
I’ve heard rumors to the effect that the most egregious scene…Sandy Berger hanging up on a change to nail ObL… occurs as the climactic moment of the first offering. May check in to see what they do with that…

A New York Times article (requires login/registration, I think) about the series referred to it as five hours long, where previously I’d heard six. They also say that the disclaimer before the movie has been modified.
I wanted to watch this film so that I could bitch about it intelligently. I lasted an hour and fifteen minutes. Deadly dull.
It did remind me of where I was when the WTC was attacked for the first time – driving up the East Coast in a snow storm to my step-son’s wedding. Did they show any snow falling in this film? It shows up in news videos.
How recently was this shot? The mention of multiple planes exploding at one time got my attention. That was about it for me.
As entertainment goes, it’s ok tv. The whole Donnie Wahlberg “we’ve got Osama Bin Laden in our cites” while Clinton says he didn’t have sex with Lewinsky makes me cringe.
Sandy Berger the Puss, Albright the clueless bitch, Clinton the distracted philanderer is all a bit of a cartoonish caricature. The lady playing Albright though is excellent. She really makes us hate her (I mean excellent in terms of being a good actor not in terms of approving.)
The first bit about the bomber was done well, and I was gonna post and say “what are you guys complaining about? This is a balanced and reasonable portrayal.”
I’m glad I waited.
I’m a little bit angry, because I think this material is serious enough that it deserves to be dealt with faithfully.
Came in late, haven’t seen much. Only thing impressive so far is the most positive take on George Tenet I’ve seen to date, and that includes his Medal of Freedim ceremony.
