What? Why? If something looks like crap, smells like crap, and is widely reported to, in fact, BE crap… I wouldn’t throw money at it in any amount!
Frank Darabont has had one in development for a while now. It’s perpetually behind schedule, and I’m still hoping that the project gets a new script and director. I love The Shawshank Redemption, but I don’t have a lot of confidence that Darabont can make a project like Fahrenheit 451 work.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure that Montag will be bang on, and that’s important. I’ve been looking forward to seeing the Hound for a long time, though – and in the wrong hands it may end up being as silly as Truffaut’s floaty firemen.

From what I hear they radically altered the ending, and that sorta figures considering that with the original ending, they would REALLY have no hope of making any money AND would be accused of some nefarious political agenda.
