"A Star Is Born" - 1954 version

Have you somehow hooked into the West Coast schedule? My on-screen channel guide has Complicated Women on at 5AM CDT, which would be 3AM PDT if TCM doesn’t rebroadcast for the West Coast… Then Devotion at 6AM and Week-End Marriage at 7:30AM. TCM’s daily schedule page seems to be vanished but the monthly schedule agrees with my on-screen guide.

Also coming up of note, not to completely derail this ASIB thread or anything, are two versions of “Gaslight” (the famous one from 1944 and another from 1940) tomorrow starting at 10:30 PM EDT, “The Clock” Wednesday at 10PM EDT, a Dick Cavett interview with Groucho Marx Thursday at 8PM EDT (followed by several Marx Bros movies) and a mini-marathon of Angela landsbury films next Monday including The harvey Girls.

I know, I hate reading that too. Only, sometimes, I hate retyping the same title over and over just that tad more. I’ll be more careful in threads Eve might be reading. Just as long as you don’t break my TiVo till after December 4.

By the way, you can have your Fredric March and James Mason and Kris Kristofferson–give me Lowell Sherman!

No, you’re right; I meant 3am PST; 6am EST. In any case, Complicated Women, and its source-book, similarly titled, are well worth your time. Jane Fonda’s narration is annoying at first, but you get used to it.

Yeah, we’ve had this conversation before. Lowell Sherman is like a cross between a flabby Dirk Bogarde and smarmy Michael Rispoli. Bleggk.

Of the four options, if I had to choose one not to kick out of bed for eating crackers, as a child of the seventies I’d have to go with KK. He’s the only reason to watch A Bore Is Starred, albeit with the sound off.

Oops, forgot my Dirk Bogarde link .

You managed to find quite an unflattering photo of Dirk Bogarde!

I know, but that’s the Dirk that your boyfriend Lowell puts me in mind of. I just watched one of La Bogarde’s odder outputs this morning (Our Mother’s House), in which he sported black bangs and a cockney accent. Way cute.
