Interestingly, if you google my name, the only thing that comes up is a letter to scifi blasting Voyager for exactly this and telling them to shitcan the show and start over.
Good premise completely ignored in order to give us another factory made Star Fleet show. Can you imagine if Buffy had pretty much ignored the vampires and tried to be a typical high school show, or if Babylon 5 had minimized the war and alien races and concentrated on internal plot lines?
