So I assume that everything you send out has a phone number prominently posted that people can call to say they don’t want something?
For years everyone in my neighborhood would periodically, for months at a time, get free weekly deliveries of La Raza , a Spanish-language paper. Since I neither speak nor read Spanish, this was a true exercise in futility on their part. To make it worse, I was getting two copies every week (most of the houses on my block are two-flats, so I guess they just assumed my house was too). Every Wednesday I would come home, collect the two papers off the porch (or wherever they ended up), take off the rubber bands and dump the papers in my recycling bin. After several months I tried to call the paper’s office to see if there was some way to put a stop to this. After spending ten minutes on hold while they found someone who spoke English, I was told that since the deliveries were being handled by a service as part of a subscription drive, there wasn’t anything they could do. Apparently the subscription drive was a failure, as eventually the deliveries in my neighborhood stopped.
