A TYGR CUB!!!

It’s been a busy month…

Mrs. Tygr went to the Dr. on Thursday so it’s official:

We’re gonna have a little Tygr!

Jumping for joy…     <G. Costanza> “My guys can Swim!” </G. Costanza>

Yes, sometime in October, we will be proud parents of a cute little eating, pooping, non-sleeping, lovable, adorable baby. We’re at 7 weeks right now. Mrs. Tygr’s doctor is really happy with everything. He even did an ultrasound, so we have baby’s first picture. That was cool. So tiny, but already has such a strong heartbeat.

We have been trying for a while - who knew, me getting laid off was all we needed. We can pretty much narrow it to the week I lost my job. Thank God for Polycarp. We would be pregnant and Tygr would be jobless if not for him. (Tons of praise to Poly for being a Wonderful Human Being).

Now, for all those that say you have tons of time to unpack boxes in your new home…we don’t anymore. They are all stacked in Jr.s new room.

We just decided to do a whole bunch of stuff in one month - lose a job, buy our first house, start a new job, and get pregnant.

[sub]Honestly, with all the other stuff going on, I’m still surprised we found time… Although, hey, when yer unemployed, what ELSE you gonna do?![/sub]

…and the strange cravings have already started. This morning she woke up, turned to me and said, "Honey, I want -

A MINIVAN!

I paused for a moment and said, “Who are you and what have you done with my wife?”

You know, the one that wanted a JEEP! The original kind, with no top and no sides!?! Honestly, you think you know a person. Then she decides to go and get pregnant and what, everything’s gonna CHANGE?

Well, that’s alright. I mean, nine months of strange happenings and then EVERYTHING will be back to normal, right? RIGHT?

In the meantime, we’re giddy-silly-happy…

<Tigger> Bouncy-bouncy-bouncy! [sub]Oh, wait, that’s what got us INTO this situation… :D[/sub]

Congrats to you. And HEY, it might be a tygr cubette.

Super Ultra Congrats Tygr!!

I’m very glad to see you so happy.

Allow me.

Congrats on the little Tygr!! May hairballs be nonexistant, and may litter training go smoothly.

bouncy bouncy bouncy bouncy bouncy

YAY TYGR!!

<does a happy dance which, due to a complete lack of dancing skills, turns out to just be arythmic jerking, causing numerous objects to be knocked off walls, tables, etc.>

Oops. Guess I’ll calm it down. Again, yay!

I really hope the litter training goes well too. And, yeah a cubette is a good possibility…I will take either one.

On being pregnant, a couple of quick comments…

-This morning sickness is yucky. I don’t like it. It is steadily getting worse.

-I don’t like Saltines plain. EEEWWW

-The tiredness - I could sleep 15 hours a day. I actually need to work at
my place of employment and around the house some…I have a baby room to
empty out so we can decorate later. Not to mention I have to figure out
where I packed the tax stuff. All I want to do is sleep.

-Subway Turkey subs are wonderful things. Bland, bready yet tastey.

Tygr is the most wonderful hubby I have ever heard of. He is doing
everything for me whenever I am feeling miserable. I thank him 50 times all
the time. While we were moving, we suspected I was pregnant (I showed
symptoms almost immediately). He carried everything up the steps from the
basement apartment. He wouldn’t let me lift anything. The only people who
knew why I was not carrying anything was my Tygr and my Mom. He did so
much.

As for my Tygr’s comment:

He being silly. He decided too. He had fun too. Just had to clarify that.

And a mini van seems practical.

I am so happy…even sick and everything. It’s totally worth it. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D Yipppeeee!!

::: ladles vegetarian chili on Jkayla’s saltines :::

I think I already let you know how happy we are for you – if it didn’t show well enough,

YIPPEE!!!

Okay, I’ll take credit for helping find you a job.

But let me make one thing clear…

You did the start-the-pregnancy thing all on your own!!!

Tygr, are we doing some evil twin thing or something?

Lessee, no new house on our end, but well, epeepunk got laid off from his job, and BAM, our second child is ALSO due in October! ALSO narrowed down to the week he lost his job (though actually just before the axe fell). Anyone know of any good AutoCAD drafter positions in Delaware?

I’m a week behind you, Jkayla, 6 weeks along (due right at the end of October). Not much morning sickness, so far (I recommend slabs of lemon, skin on, dropped into ice water - wash the lemon carefully first, of course, but the lemon scent and taste saved me from yooking many many times with my son). Crackers did NADA for me. Eating loads of protein helped, especially before bed (keeps that blood sugar up). Not much sleepies, either, so far, but that will come, I’m sure. My midwives said growing a baby is equivalent to hiking 20 miles every day - so no wonder you are exhausted!

Hoping all the best for your pregnancy. After two miscarriages in a relative row (many months apart), I’m just hoping this one sticks. But it feels good so far, so I’m keeping hopes up. Happy baby-growing! (So reassuring to have seen a strong heartbeat at this point, too!)

Verrrry Cool, Tygr, hedra…!

I just had to pop my head in and say Congrats!

((((Tygr & jkayla))))

YAY! My son’s birthday is October 2nd. Try and have yours arund then, okay?

Super-mega-congrats!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Okay, hedra, stop it. Yer freakin’ me out here. Too many co-incidences!

Thanks for the advice to help settle Mrs. Tygr’s tummy. I get VERY bothered when my love is unhappy, and the morning-hurls she’s experiencing fall under that heading. Plus it’s doubly upsetting coz there’s nothing I can do to make her feel better! :frowning:

Persephone: :)[sup]Hi![/sup] Oct. 2 might be a little early, but I’ll get her out walking 'round the block for several hours each day for the week before that. My understanding is that that helps things along.

Many thanks to all y’all for the kind words and kudos.

sniff sniff

for a moment i thought we were all being invited to join the Tygr club

congrats.

Yippee and Yeehaw for all three of you!!!

Congrats everyone!

Thanks for the well wishes…and the advice. Today is a yukkee day for me. Sick, porcelain god kinda morning. Ahhhh, but then this afternoon, there is turkey. Wonderful turkey. That helps.

Hedra, I hope everything does go well for you. fingers crossed & prayers being said. I will try the protein increase because the crackers don’t do much. Of course it doesn’t help matters that I don’t like plain saltines in the first place. I may try pretzels. A coworker suggested that.

Persephone, I can go for Oct 2. My actual due date is Oct 11th, but I am sure by the 2nd I will be ready…They said give or take two weeks, right?
Thanks again.

hope the protein works - plus extra protein may help keep pregnancy-related hypertension (NOT preeclampsia - different things) away. Did you try the lemon? Also, many women swear by ginger tea (not gingerale, there isn’t enough ginger in it).

email me if you want to join a group of women all due in Oct - okay, a group that includes me, as there are probably a few million ‘due-date’ groups around that you could join(message board, elsewhere). I’ll just tell you which one I am on, if you want to know!

And thanks for the prayers - I’ll take any I can get, though I have a general good feeling about this one.

Lessee…seven weeks ago…was…middle of January…what were you two (Hedra and Tygr)celebrating? Ramadan?

I fully expect threads from both of you for " What shall we name the baby?" These are sooooooooooooooo much fun.

Here is to a healthy uneventful pregancy.
