Not just a loud purr, but an almost constant trill/hum, too. It needs an owner who is hard of hearing or deaf.
One of my cats, while not that loud, is very similar! He has an almost constant “trill”, whenever you pay the least bit of attention to him, even just look at him, he’ll start it up. Poor Smokey.
One of my cats who died recently was pretty loud. She didn’t have the trill sound at the higher frequency, but her low frequency rattle could be heard over the phone when she was in my lap.
