Translation: I kilt the MMP! :smack:
I shall work next week despite almost everyone else being out; can’t do much w/o 'em means I’m getting paid to solitaire & surf…& maybe even irk from home some days.
…off to maybe go get high (winds are borderline)
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWJN 'Tis 48 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 63 and rainy. 'Tis drizzly/rainy as I post.
Today shall be a fairly easy day. I do need to iron some shirts. That’s the only major chore I foresee. I shall also make up some burgers for dindin tonight. Burgers and fries sounds like a good plan to me.
I’m sure we could pencil in a few.
Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. OYKW is still abed so I’m thinkin’ cereal and milk oughta do it for me. He can forage on his own once he arises.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
“Leaves,” surely?
Happy Saturday!
It’s cold in the armpit, 25 degrees.
I have to start getting ready for the family party.
I’ll need to stop and pick up a pie on the way. Nope, it’s not going to be homemade and if my snarky cousin has anything to say about it I’ll just tell her she is in luck because I left my enforcer home and nobody is going to hold a gun to her head and make her eat it.
This particular cousin has something to say about everything and unless she is bragging on her own fool self, it’s never anything nice.
I know I will have a good time once I get there but the getting there is hard to do.
Fluffy is coming for the weekend! We’ll shop and drink wine and watch movies and drink wine and complain about stuff and drink wine.
You’re personal friends with Gabriel Iglesias? Gabriel Iglesias - Wikipedia.
Somewhere between the usual Saturday chores, I have to place the finishing touches on a couple of Xmas gifts then wrap all of them.
He’s funny. But, no. Fluffy is my cousin’s internet nom-de-guerre
Thanks to HR yesterday today is now Monday. I love this job - really and truly. But I am starting to think HR stands for “Hells Replacements”.
Oh, okay. I was wondering if Fluffy was a cat, and why you were shopping and drinking wine with a cat.
Speaking of cats, a friend and I went to one of Montreal’s cat cafes yesterday! We saw many adorable kitties.
Here’s a kitten named Luna, who we shared our table with.
Here I am making friends with Chopin. He’s a polydactyl (has extra toes), though it doesn’t show in this picture.
I love the idea of a cat cafe! The little store where I sell my crafty stuff has a resident kitteh - it showed up cold and hungry and pregnant one day, and the owner of the shop “adopted” her - she’s got a bed and a food dish and she wanders in and out at will.
If there was a cat cafe around here, I’d hang out there. I wonder how the health dept would feel about that?
I et me some cereal and milk after my last post and then went back to bed and slept until ten a.m.! It felt goooooooood!
MOOOOOOM my guess is the health dept. would be concerned with the freshness of the cat served at the cafe.
ETA: First on Six!
mrRowr! Hhhhhhhhhhssssss! ffft fft ffft
Calm down, Kitty. I will get you some tuna fish!
Bah, humbug! Found out this morning that my 80-year old mother had a fall. She’s currently in the horsepistol with a broken wrist (in plaster) and a broken hip. Her hip is likely to require surgery which they’re going to do tomorrow. Getting through to her is difficult because she only has her cellphone and she doesn’t know how voicemail works so never picks up messages.
She was supposed to be going away for xmas on Tuesday but obviously that won’t happen now, but until I see her tomorrow I won’t know the extent of her injuries or how long she’s likely to be stuck in the horsepistol. Doesn’t help that said horsepistol is 80 miles away from me, and that she doesn’t want anyone else told about what’s happened to her.
So…I guess that is hexmas officially catastrophised!
**BooFae **- how awful! I hope your mother’s injuries aren’t too terrible, altho at 80, healing can take longer than at 50. Hugs to you and BooFaeMom!!
I’m up and caffeinated after a 17 hour day. At least this time it included 8 hours of OT. Apparently it snowed this morning.
It is looking tired and haggis.
That one is just tack-y

{{{{{{Boofae}}}}}}} Mayber you and Mom can celebrate Othodox hexmas instead?
{{{BooFae and BooFaeMom}}} Here’s hopin’ mom is better as soon as possible and the surgery goes well.
doggio just let the puns envelope you.
I just sent the following email off to the tree trimming company…
Background: The intersection in question is old enough to have a “George Washington crossed here” sign at the corner instead of the house (on one corner) & trees/shrubbery that block your view because they predate modern/open intersection design.
Bobbio & his pen ain’t got nuthin’ on me…
On Sat Dec 20th @ approx 13:00 hrs you had a tree trimming crew on Rt S___ in ____ Twsp. Your crew was working just west of the intersection with J___ Rd. Since your vehicles were occupying the eastbound lane, all traffic was funneled into the westbound lane.
I was northbound on J___ & started to turn left/westbound onto Rt S___ when the light turned green for me. Had I completed this turn, I would have crashed head-on into the eastbound car that was stopped at the traffic light in the westbound lane. It was only when I put my car in reverse that I noticed your flagger, to the east/right of the intersection! Further, he was not doing anything to control traffic that was coming southbound on J___ & turn right/west onto Rt 73 as I saw a car attempt that turn also! He was standing on the eastbound edge of the road, not paying attention to north/south traffic at all. In fact, the way his slow/stop sign was angled, it was not even visible to the southbound traffic.
I felt it necessary to contact the police about this dangerous lack of traffic control that was displayed by your employee/contractor on the eastern end of this detail to hopefully have them prevent the next car from being in an accident.
I never thought that flagging traffic was that tough of a job, but this employee clearly does not have the brain power to both breathe & direct traffic. Frankly, had he gone into the middle of the intersection & attempted to direct traffic it would have been better because when he stopped breathing, he would have collapsed to the ground, where at least his body would have served as a speed bump, which would have been more effective than standing on the side of the road looking at the few remaining leaves left on the trees, which, judging by the direction he was facing is what he appeared to be doing.
He needs to either attend a remedial traffic directing class or be terminated because your company would have significant liability if his incompetence caused an accident.
BooFae / Mom - I won’t throw the traditional bracket/hugs around that as she’s probably sore all over today.
Home from the party
Snarky cousin was uncharacteristically quiet.
I didn’t take a pie though, the store didn’t have any I so I took cookies instead.

Most everybody loves Bergers Cookies. I don’t. It’s a big glop of chocolate fudge on a wafer.
So I’m tired and thought about taking a nap but the son wants to go home so I guess I will start packing my stuff.
Burgers ‘n fries have been ingested. Good food on a rainy, dreary day. I talked with JDD a little while ago. They’ve been at his folks’ house most of the day just clearin’ out the pantry, fridges, and freezers. He told me they threw out so much expired stuff that they had to go buy more trash bags. I don’t know whether  or :(is the way I feel. Apparently his mom would buy stuff, not remember she bought it, buy it again, not remember she bought it, soap, rinse, repeat. He said it really looked like she used the same shoppin’ list over and over. I guess describes it best.
Sari if your son is now callin’ the new digs home, that’s a good sign, right?
