AAP-stung by a sting

This is something I wrote after witnessing the sickening episodes of periodical upheavals, revelations about unethical (I wonder if some were unlawful too) practises, endless internal bickering, resignations/expulsions of prominent leaders and founding members of a new political party in India, AAP …“allegedly” formed on an anti-corruption plank. An audio tape was revealed yesterday by the Indian media and TV where an AAP member and erstwhile lawmaker is heard (allegedly) discussing with the party chief and the party chief is heard (again allegedly) exploring the possibility of trying to break a group of lawmakers from a rival political party and get them to support his party for government formation in a state (province) of India.
This is, on the face of it, downright unethical and against the principles on which the party was originally founded.

This internal bickering, expulsions, letter-wars and audio tape revelation happened within a month after AAP came to power in a small state (province) of India promising the common man everything under the moon.

I just put all this info as I see that the forums here have a predominant American member-base and very few Indians. Just thought the perspective in which the poem was written might help.

Here it goes…

AAP- stung by a sting

Caught in a sting,
Of its own making.
AK left wondering,
Is my party imploding?
So soon after the crowning.

Whoever did the leaking,
The tape is certainly damning.
Now stop pretending
Only you are law-abiding,
Ashish, Ashutosh and Sanjay Singh.

We are sick of your condescending,
Mocking, offending, unending explaining.
Just stop bickering,
It’s time you start attending,
Helping, caring, serving, tending.

(the real aam aadmi)
Notes :

  1. AAP - Aam Aadmi Party - literally translated as Common Man Party
  2. AK - AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal
  3. Ashish, Ashutosh and Sanjay Singh - important leaders of AAP and its
spokespersons who frequently appear on national television defending the party.
  4. sting - the revelation of the audio tape (supposedly by party insiders)

Reported for forum change, as this seems to have no relation to entertainment. Unless those ar the words to some massive Bollywood dance number.

My reading of the OP is that he wrote a poem about a political event, and provided the political background as context for the American readers. However the thread is to discuss the poem itself, which is Cafe Society material. Let’s let this thread sit here, and if it evolves into a discussion of the politics, not the poetry, we can move it then.

It’s funny. Their clothes are different from my clothes.

My intention was exactly that !

I read it in my head with a rhythmic cadence, almost like rap or Beat poetry.
