Aaron Rodgers again appeared on Pat McAfee’s talk show today for some more hard-hittiing sports journalism.
He understands you might have felt misled by him.
“I made some comments that people might have felt were misleading,” Rodgers told McAfee. “To anybody who felt misled by those comments, I take full responsibility for those comments.”
And yes, the uproar has affected him, he can have hurt feelings like anyone else, but he recognizes he said polarizing things, so he gets it.
So while you should feel bad for putting him through this, be glad that he’s still standing strong and thinking about getting back to what matters, which is football.
What does this even mean? It’s a bullshit phrase. If he were taking full responsibility, then he wouldn’t have a problem with being dropped by his sponsors.
FFS, what a pile of…mush. So his comments weren’t misleading, but people might have felt they were. Uh, what? And anybody who actually felt misled, he’s…well, not sorry, not regretful, but he takes full responsibility for those comments.
As ESPN notes, the amount of the fine is what was agreed to in a broader agreement between the league and the players’ association, when the COVID protocols were instituted. I suspect that the agreement prevented the fine from being larger – I bolded that portion below. (And, FTR, I agree – to someone like Rodgers, a fine like that is a pittance.)
What a petty, insignifcant gesture by the league. Welp, which influential role model NFL superstar is going to start anti-vaxxin’ next? Gronk? Smokin’ Jay Cutler? Art Schlister?
I mean shit, it’s not like you’re going to get into trouble or anything.
