abanded homes near Fort Worth Texas and Oklahoma City OK

I love abandoned homes, barns, buildings, and anywhere else I can snoop. I love seeking cool leftovers in abandoned homes, and I dont care how nasty or old the buildings are.

So I wanted to know if any fellow explorers know of any abandoned anthinthing that looks to be a structure of some sort. The best areas for me to explore are in (TEXAS)Tarrant County or Denton County, and even Oklahoma because it is about a 40 minute drive. And any other areas around my prison in the burbs (Southlake TX).

My 15 year old says I am a creeper and she will not partake in anyway… oops unless I scavenge an old book for her to read. ha ha

I don’t have any help for you, but I distinctly recall driving away from Indianapolis one night and there seemed to be whole tracts of buildings just totally dark and looking completely wiped out, falling apart, broken. Kinda what much of Detroit looks like right now, I expect. And yeah, I wanted to go explore, but…it’s probably just as well I didn’t. Probably wasn’t as uninhabited as it looked. >.<

I’ve driven by those massive (apparently) abandoned grain silos just west of I35 in Ft. Worth dozens of times and wondered if anyone had ever done any Urban Archeology in them.

Most likely those assumed abandoned homes you are snooping in belong to someone, they are probably just not currently being lived in. Needless to say, you in all likelihood have been trespassing and if you’ve taken anything, then you are a thief.

If this doesn’t bother you, then why not step it up and move onto snooping in resided in homes. The pickings are surely going to be better.

What you are looking for is the term urban explorer

A Google search will be a good way to start to find the buildings

There are plenty of abandoned towns near Fort Worth. You could start in Dido.

As a matter of fact, I have a house in Fort Worth that I’m not currently living in. If you are caught in it, I’ll file charges of breaking and entering and possibly burglary and vandalism. Just because I’m not living there right now doesn’t mean that it’s abandoned, and it certainly doesn’t mean that I have given up all claims to anything you might find in there.
