Abandoned city in last night's Mythbusters

[QUOTE=Doobieous]
Because it has taken years for the military to give the housing over, the houses have deteriorated to the state you saw on the episode. Nature has taken over and you get a real feel for what it would be like if everyone suddenly died out.

Thanks for the detailed explanation!

As for the condition, just by chance, I used to live in a neighborhood that was officers’ housing for the Concord Naval Weapons Station many years ago. Without a doubt, it was the worst house I’ve ever lived in. It may have been nice during WWII, but it sure didn’t age gracefully. The place was wall to wall with linoleum tile. Even the bedrooms were tiled in dark brown. Worse, from the day it was built, it’s been slowly rocking and inching its way downhill. As a whole, the neighborhood looks rather like what we saw on TV last night, just with green lawns and cars. Similar house styles and similar just shy of falling apart condition.

Kari is much less hawt this year. :frowning:
Something about the hair made her look much older, and airheady.

You are not of the Body! :eek:

I thought she was hot when they showed her from the backside while painting Grant into the circle.

Regarding Kari, within the last year, I’ve started to notice her attractiveness go down and her “out-of-it-ness” increase. My first impulse was to think she was abusing some sort of intoxicant. I don’t know. But during some promos and bits, she just seems off.

I hereby dub it Adamville.

Busted Myth Acres.

Just caught a re-run of the episode in question. Tori refers to the community as “Cypress Knolls”, an abandoned military housing development in the city of Marina, in Monterey County, CA.
