I’ve read either Ghazni air base within Pakistan, or Jalallabad (sp?) within Afghanistan, as the origin point for the helicopters. Frankly, you could put down “Shangri-La” and be just as accurate, IMHO. An interesting question for me is, “What route did they take to get out?” Going back across Pakistan to Afghanistan means another 40 minutes, minimum, of low level flight, across a now decidedly irritated sovereign country. Assuming, of course, that someone in Pakistan didn’t give permission before hand.
