Abercrombie & Fitch pulls out offensive apparel.

Your thoughts on this?

Dummy, forgot to post the article’s link.

When I heard about this, I thought it was going to be one of many cases where people overreact and make a big deal out of nothing. I’m normally find things like this to be in good fun but for once, I side w/ the complainers. Those shirts were pretty insulting. I also find that them trying to justify it by saying that they make fun of all sorts of ethnic groups was pretty weak.

(This would probably get more replies if it was in IMHO)

This forum is for questions with factual answers. This topic is already being discussed in Great Debates, so I will close this thread and direct further comment to that thread, http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=110465

well, there’s already two threads in GD going on about this.

So stupid. From my limited experience, the only people that wear that POS of a clothing line are superficial preppy white teenagers and some asians. That is it. That should say a lot about the company to begin with. The t-shirts weren’t created with a racist intent but I can see how many people were offended. But man oh man, I sure do hate that clothing line. I mean come on, Abercrombie? That is such a stupid name. It’s the fact that it is stupid is what makes it sells in the first place. If you take 100 abercrombie clothing wearing girls/guys, their combined i.q. is prolly about 500.
