Abortion “requirements” struck down in Missouri

So at least there’s a little good news and the MAGA crowd aren’t having it all their own way. These kinds of sneaky roadblocks are just so frustrating while letting the lawmakers appear “reasonable.”

Missouri GOP are still working on it.

“Then by voters” is the key part here. Have voters anywhere actually voted AGAINST abortion since Dobbs?

Republicans contend they are simply giving voters a second chance — and are confident they will change their minds.

So they believe that people should get a second chance to make a sensible decision when it comes to getting an abortion?

A Plan B, if you will?

This could be just the break the Stassen campaign has been waiting for!

Full Title: Missouri Voted in Favor of Abortion Rights and Paid Sick Leave. State Republicans Just Overturned Them Both: The two major ballot initiatives were passed in November 2024 by the popular vote

On Wednesday, Republican senators invoked “previous question,” a rarely used rule in the Missouri Senate, to cut off debate and force immediate votes on both reversals. The first measure proposes a new constitutional amendment to replace Amendment 3, reinstating abortion restrictions but adding exceptions for rape, incest and medical emergencies.

The second bill repeals paid sick leave protections passed under Proposition A and ends the state’s inflation-based minimum wage indexing. Both votes passed swiftly, despite an hours-long Democratic filibuster.

It’s all over the Kansas City news. They showed a protester in Jefferson City today saying “This is bullshit”

I guess that a brand spanking new Missouri legislature may be on the horizon.
