Abortion: The One True Hill to die on

I’m going to point you back to my OP.

Ah, OK. Got too immersed in the thread.

• What if God’s plan is that you get aborted at 11 weeks?

• The doctor performing the abortion could solemnly intone “Before you were born I set you apart” if you think that’d help.

A lot of people throughout history, innocent children as well as adults, have died in horrible and unjust ways. To say this is God’s Plan? Despicable.

Does God’s plan include all of the spontaneous abortions , commonly and formerly known as miscarriages?
Does it include all the deformities and defects and even Strokes or other problems that happen in the womb?

Incorrect. Nobody is more powerful than God, no matter what God allows them to do.

Nobody who knows anything significant about the Bible would ever think to make such a claim.

So, god allows abortions then? What’s the fuss about?

So, there is no plan? When people comfort each other after a tragedy saying, “It’s all part of god’s plan.” they are lying?

Well, God could have stopped her from posting that, but she allowed her to do that.

Liar.

The world we actually have is indistinguishable from one where God doesn’t give a shit and doesn’t participate.

But, if it comforts you and doesn’t hurt anyone else, go ahead and believe it.

God not only allows abortions, but She made humans so that we could come up with the technology to do them, so God created abortions. Abortions are God’s creation, and we should worship them as holy.

Repeal going through, so not all that relevant now (yay!) but that’s not been quite true since the ‘Protection of Life During Pregnancy Act 2013’; which gave legal exceptions if the mother’s life was deemed at serious risk.

Unfortunately there was a lot of uncertainty about what constituted serious risk, so actual practice occasionally ignored that.
