About Macromedia Flash 5...

How much expertise do you need to use it?

Is there anyone here who has had experience using it or any other computer-based animation program?

I’m not thinking of using it so much for website design as I am animated films and cartoon shorts. Ever since I switched from a dial-up modem to cable earlier this month (and I will NEVER look back again, thank you) I have been watching and downloading flash animation clips left and right… so much so that I am convinced that I definitely have the drawing talents for the animation and I can think up the dialogue and storylines – but I’m not sure if I have the computer skills to run it. I’m pretty basic in my skills: I can’t seem to download Napster correctly and I don’t even use Dialpad yet because I’m not sure what kind of headset to buy.

Any inormation will be appreciated. Oh, I realize that I can download Flash for a 30 day trial period, but I hesitated until I heard from you (Straight) Dope Fiends.

I actually just started working with Flash less than a week ago myself. There are scores of tutorials online that walk you through the basic processes of tweening, making buttons and movie clips. Prior to working with Flash, I’ve used Adobe Photoshop and the interfaces are somewhat similar. It’s not too hard if you have the patience to sit down and read a bit. Here are two sites to get you started.
