The title of the song “Live Is Life” by Opus band is also heard and written as “Life is Life”.
How’s that? merely a mistake or what?

Check out the lyrics. They amount to “being onstage is what makes my/a musician’s life worth living”.
Listing it as “life is life” isn’t just silly, it’s a hypercorrection from people who haven’t bothered listen to the song.
This brings back memories! I was around 16 when the song came out, and I had a friend who kept insisting that “live is life” made no sense, it was “life is life”, end of story. We were washing dishes at my house, singing along to the song, and she made a point of singing “LIFE IS LIFE” really loudly during every chorus. When the song was over, the DJ came on and enunciated, “That was LIVE is Life, by Opus!” I just gave her a mild neener look and kept on washing.
It may just be people who don’t usually encounter that usage of the word live, and thus hear it as a word they are used to.
Thanks. Interesting memory.
Tell me more about “neener”, the definition and the etymology of the word.
It’s a taunt, kind of like saying, “Hahaha, you’re wrong!” Here’s a good definition, and here’s a photographic representation.
I made it mild by leaving out the “hands to the ears” part.
Thanks for the info.
