I thought acting coaches were a thing of the past, but I have an acquaintance who works in the Industry who says not a few actors show up on the set accompanied by people who direct their performance. Do actors still use acting coaches nowadays?
Some ride coach, some ride first class, as always.
Actors very much use acting coaches. There’s a cool behind the scenes thing on The Rainmaker (Matt Damon/Danny DeVito… etc.) I don’t know if I got the movie right… the director hired an acting coach for the whole movie, and theres cool footage of her helping out, and the type of stuff an acting coach does. They are very helpful to an actor… Just another tool they have available to help them win their Oscars.
Screeme
They sure do.
You’ll find them under Theatrical Agents in the LA phone book.
Would you like a free class?
Acting is a skill, and it does help to have an observer to give suggestions. It’s no different from a baseball player getting advice from one of his coaches.
“What we have here is failure to communicate.” – Strother Martin, anticipating the Internet.
I know Tia Carrere uses one because my son met her & her coach is his idiotic bio father.
Even got me a signed post card from her but couldn’t get the signed bra.
