He was in The Wiz (musical), Captain Eo (for Disney World, I think), the Thriller video (OK, it was just a music video, but it was the first real long-form music video with story line and what-not), and probably some other stuff. I don’t think he’d ever be up for any kind of acting award had he lived, but he was an actor.

Frank Sinatra. Could sing reasonably well, held his own dancing with Gene Kelly and acting opposite Marlon Brando. Brando and Kelly also could do all three.
