I always find it interesting in these game threads to see how long it takes before someone posts an entry that breaks the rules. Here it was 26 minutes.
Adolphe Menjou grew up to be Cary Grant and then Walter Matthau, and Pat O’Brien grew up to be Rosalind Russell and then Jack Lemmon (The Front Page/His Girl Friday/The Front Page). Then they mutated into Burt Reynolds and Kathleen Turner (Switching Channels).
Jason Robards grew up to be William Forsythe (The St. Valentine’s Day Massacre/The Untouchables).
None of your entries show any kind of age progression, they are merely remakes, so no one grew up to be anybody. So how long did it take you to break the rules?
I dunno, but how many times in their lives did Hildy and Walter hide the escaped anarchist in the roll top desk? Maybe I’m reading too much into the OP but his examples (at least the ones I have seen) take place at different stages of the characters life, not just being played by actors of varying ages. Otherwise we’re just looking for a bunch of movies that have been remade. Frank Sinatra and Geogre Clooney both played Danny Ocean, but there is no way one could argue that one grew up into the other.
