Acts Like Cheech & Chong and Penn & Teller

Cheech and Chong are named for the first name (“Cheech” [aka Richard] Marin) of one player and the last name (Chong - Tommy Chong) of the other. Penn & Teller are similarly named: Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller. *

What (if indeed there are any) are some other acts that are similarly-named?

*Yes, I know Raymond Teller performs mononymously under the name “Teller”; please work with me here.

Fry & Laurie
French & Saunders
Morecombe & Wise
Hale & Pace

expect to be inundated with hundreds of others

All of those are lastname-lastname. The OP was looking for firstname-lastname duos.

Do any of those work?

I’m thinking for more that are like the OP’s examples, but can’t think of any.

Hamilton, Joe Frank, and Reynolds – two by the last name, the other by his first two names.

England Dan and John Ford Coley also has a nickname and a full name.

Captain and Tenille, sort of (Nickname of one, last name of the other)

It’s more than just his performances. He had his name legally changed from Raymond Teller to Teller.

I read somewhere that his passport says “NFN Teller”, for “no first name”.

Took some work but I did find another example: the Australian comedy duo Merrick and Rosso (Merrick Watts and Tim Ross).

You could include O.C. and Stiggs if you’re willing to go with characters rather than performers. The characters were Oliver Cromwell Ogleby and Mark Stiggs. (For those not into eighties trivia, O.C. and Stiggs were from a series of short stories which were made into a not very successful movie.)

Tippecanoe and Tyler too is another nickname / last name combo. They took their act all the way to the White House, but broke up a month later.

Does Paul and Storm work? I guess not.

In the National Lampoon stories, “O.C.” stood for “Out of Control.” The “Oliver Cromwell” thing was an innovation of the film. A British comic book took the basic premise and gave it an alien setting: “D.R. and Quinch.” “D.R.” stood for “Diminished Responsibility.”

Vaguely recalling an old TV show starring Pat Morita: Mr. T and Tina.

Wouldn’t that be Hamilton, Joe, Frank, Ann, Reynolds?

In the close but no cigar category: Sonny and Cher.

Oh, they work, all right. But I suppose they don’t fit the premise of the OP.

Those of you who haven’t heard of them need to check out some of their stuff.

The Higgins Boys and Gruber.

Willie Tyler and Lester.

The Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose?

Another near-miss (?): Kukla, Fran and Ollie, with two first names (Fran Allison and Oliver J. Dragon) and one mononym.
