Does the lid flop back down continuously and you get to exclaim “shit” a lot like Shatner?
I did some quick research to see if I could determine if you were kidding or if that is actually true.
Shatner is infamously an asshole. Gene Frigging Roddenberry said he was an asshole.
He demanded more lines than anyone else and would literally sit on set with a red pen, marking out lines from Nimoy and the others in scripts to make sure of it.
He famously insulted Wil Wheaton (who idolized him) to his face, on set. Wheaton’s told the story repeatedly.
And there’s the story of the time a fan bumped into him in public, and asked for his autograph. He asked the man how much money he had on him. The man answered $96 (IIRC) and Shatner said to give it to him. Thinking he was just kidding, doing it for a laugh and would give it back, he did. Shatner gave him an autograph and walked off. He wasn’t kidding.
There are countless stories of him. Being “Shat on” is even a term for it.
I saw it on a blooper reel back in high school.
