Star Trek ring tones?

I’d love to get the original Star Trek communicator chirp sound for my Verizon cell phone ring tone. Does anyone know whether it’s availabe?

:dubious:

You want your cell phone to sound like a pager???

I don’t think that’s what I said. I want my cell phone to sound like the chirp of the Star Trek communicator. I would try to rephrase that, but I can’t think of any other way of saying it.

That would be a great ring tone if followed by “Kirk here, three to beam up.”

Sorry–one of the probable Urban Legends of Star Trek was that when Star Trek first came out, there were some medical equipment manufacturers which were trying to come up with an alert sound of some sort which would cut through a conversation without being some kind of brazen alarm; they heard the communicator beep and said “Ah-hah! that’s it!” and began incorporating it into their equipment. Then pagers were invented and used the same kind of noise as the medical equipment.

Find a program to load ringtones.
Find a program to convert WAV files to whatever the phone uses.
Download the Trek communicator WAV and have at it.

Much too hard. Can’t be bothered.

Ah. How about googling “Star Trek” communicator ring tone?

I found plenty of people willing to sell me the ringtone for a very reasonable price.

Actually, that was my first thought. But I’ve never bought ringtones and none of the vendors looked familiar to me. Any recommendations for a vendor you have used?

Ha!
You think Kirk would be bothered? ^ :dubious: ^

Kirk would be much too cool to care about his ring tone. Kirk’s no fanboy.

I just figured out that “fanboy” means “white boy shit.” Damn.
