I thank you for your Christmas well wishes. Especially when for the other 365 days of the year, I couldn’t even get a hoot out from you. It is really considerate of you to take 30 seconds to send a Christmas wish when you are terribly busy, so terribly busy, that you can’t take my call, does not return SMS sent or establish any other form of contact for the past 11 29/30 months.
I would really, really cherish your Christmas greeting…
…as if.
Seriously, what’s the point of wishing me to be happy on a single, particular day, when for the other days of the year you don’t even care or think about my happiness? This is so strange.
Ah, I see. It’s a social convention. Maybe I read too much into it. Probably you had my name on a mass mail or something. Hence, the same social convention which let’s you imagine that you have done your part of friendship by just wishing me a happy day for a single day in the year also dictates that I should say Merry Christmas to you too.
Which I am not going to.
