That’s a cool rule, Riemann. The rules that are really making this hard are starting and ending with a vowel. I’m stumped.

A plausible use can be cooked-up for a lot of things. Theoretically, if I was to be treated for polycythemia I would certainly read that I was being treated with acetylphenylhydrazine, and perhaps hear my MD pronounce the word. So your loophole wasn’t strictly necessary, but it did make me a lot more comfortable with my answer.

I was thinking it might be fun to hear people’s convoluted explanations of when they might use an obscure word.
Perhaps “use the word in a sentence” should be a standard requirement.
