- My order arrived today. In addition to Photoshop 7, Illustrator 10 and Acrobat 5 (the concepts of which I understand fairly well) it also has InDesign 2, LiveMotion 2 and GoLive 6. What are these latter three for?

InDesign is a desktop publishing (page layout) program. I don’t know if it replaces PageMaker in Adobe’s line-up or not, but it’s a competitor to Quark.
Am not too familiar with LiveMotion, though it looks like some sort of a video (or animation) generator that supports various web formats, such as Flash and QuickTime.
GoLive is a web page editor/designer. I usually pound out HTML by hand, but if you wanted a WYSIWYG-type program, Macromedia’s DreamWeaver is pretty much the industry standard (yes, I know DW also has a code-editing interface).
If you go to Adobe’s web site, you’ll see that they’ve made several “bundles” of their products, each with a specific target market.
