Adrianne Haslet-Davis diary update after the Boston Bombing.

Her joy at the first leg prosthesis fitting is so uplifting. She’s fought back a long way since the bombing April 15, 2013.

There no doubt this ballroom dance instructor will be dancing again very soon. She’s tapped into a source of strength that only comes from deep within the human spirit.

She insists on calling herself a survivor and not a victim. I wish her the best on this personal journey to recovery.

Interview April 23 just days after the bombing. Such a difference today.

Classic pattern.

It’s easy to get way down after taking such a life-changing blow.

Fortunately, it becomes easier to move forward and rebuild your life when you’ve taken the time to consider the alternatives.

“It will take me a year to learn to walk again!” “And how old will you be in a year if you don’t learn to walk again?”

Longer video report from CNN. Gives a very personal insight into what it takes to recover from an event like the bombing.

I’ve heard that it makes a big difference if the amputation is below the knee? I noticed Adrianne has a very natural walking gait. I think its harder for higher amputees? They have to swing the prosthetic from the hip and it gives them a stiffer gait. They can’t balance as well either.
