I have been told that the issue of members and charter members seeing ads has been fixed, and testing among the mods seems to confirm this.
If you are seeing ads and you believe that you should not be, please contact me.
Note that members and charter members not seeing ads only applies to the SDMB. It does not apply to the Straight Dope web page. This is not a change. This is the way that it worked when we were on vBulletin.
As a Member… Not sure if I am still other than I think I paid for 4? years ago last year… And I always have used an Ad Blocker… Yay!

Yeah, but no easy way to see. I scrawled and scrambled and found “Granted Jun '18” which I might have bought my membership then but I know I had read as a guest for years… and before then as a Lurker . I joined so I could read the old threads when people were less velvet gloved in the Pit.

I will be ready to pay a yearly subscription once again if that ever happens. I like reading erudite and hilarious stuff without ads.
The word “Member” is right next to your username whenever you post.
I was talking about in my “dashboard” and when I paid for my subscription. Wanting to know if I am legit still a member vs everyone has kept their status since no one can pay, yet.
